Delete These Adware Affected Selfie & VPN Apps On Android

After the recent CamScanner fiasco and 85 dangerous apps being removed from the Play Store – it is quite evident that Google is failing to review or monitor the malicious application on Google Play Store.

Now, there’s a couple of new stories which reveals multiple selfie camera apps and VPN apps affected with Adware.

In other words, you will be displayed advertisements outside the app – even when you are not using the app. Of course, this is totally bad for an application that promises to be useful while being deceptive at the same time.

Shockingly, these apps had millions of downloads. So, it’s better to know about the apps and delete them immediately.

While only the selfie camera apps have been removed from the Play Store, the VPN apps still remain – which is alarming.

So, if you have/had installed any of these apps – consider deleting them immediately. To give credits where it’s due, thanks to the researchers at Wandera and Andy Michael from VPN testing to help us know about the malicious apps.

I really hope that Google does something to monitor such apps on the Play Store. We can’t always rely on Independent researchers, right?
