WhatsApp is undoubtedly the most popular instant messenger available for smartphones. The smartphone app is good enough – and there’s always WhatsApp Web if you want to access WhatsApp on your PC, right?
However, it is always annoying to use WhatsApp on PC. You need an active Internet connection on your phone in order to use WhatsApp Web your PC.

Sometimes I just want to turn off my mobile data and continue using WhatsApp on PC just like Telegram. What about you?
Well, it isn’t possible yet – but that is going to change soon enough.
Note: WhatsApp Web is a different thing that requires an active Internet connection on your phone. With the desktop app, you will be able to use WhatsApp on PC just like you do on your phone.
WhatsApp For PC Will Work Without Your Phone
A popular WhatsApp beta tester (who spots a lot of things with new beta updates) @WABetaInfo tweeted that a UWP (Universal Windows Platform) app for Windows is reportedly in-progress.
And, now, it looks like – the twitter handle claims to confirm the rumor that WhatsApp is soon going to launch a Desktop app that will work without your phone:
So, this means that a standalone desktop version of WhatsApp is coming soon. It should also be technically possible to log in to multiple devices using the same number at the same time. All messages and media will be synced across the devices.

Even if it looks like a solid confirmation, we suggest you take it with a pinch of salt. The development might be in-progress but could never make it to an announcement, who knows?
