Hello readers, in this article you will find out the five reasons for which you should switch from an iPhone to Android. Don’t worry iPhone users, I will also be writing about the opposite side of the topic because everything has its own merits and demerits. iPhone, previously was not only regarded as an iOS powered phone. It was the only smartphone in its days. And, later other smartphones powered by different OS, majorly Android expanded the smartphone market.
Recently, Apple launched the iPhone 6 and the 6 plus variant. But what are the things that lure a user to switch over to Android? Well, there can be many according to various user’s choice. If we look at some forums or general discussion points, users say that – “ I was quite bored from the same features, so had to switch over”. But this statement merely explains the good reasons why one should switch to Android.
Let us move on to know the reasons for an unbiased perception.

The Price
Well, Apple users ( not everyone) have a different perception of being “Royal”, which clearly means the rest of the users are not. Here’s a funny picture from social media ( shared by an Apple product user ):
But that’s not the scene with the Android phones. The Android phones are available to everyone. It doesn’t matter how much you earn, you can easily afford an Android phone. Are you a well-off person? Don’t worry, smartphones like Galaxy S6 Edge, LG G3, HTC M9 and other similar devices are a good match for you. And these also deserve to be called out as “Royal” devices. Android powered devices can justify it by an example, where LG G series flagship smartphones win the best smartphone award continuously for 2-3 years.
If you want the latest features on your smartphone. You can find Android devices ranging from $80 – $900. But, that’s not going to happen with the iPhones. Like, iPhone 6 is available in three variants of storage (16 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB), which has a price tag of $640, $749 & $849 respectively. Manufacturers are trying hard to make Android phones more cost-effective, but that rarely is going to happen with the iPhones.
Personalization
If you have got an Android, you can explore a whole lot of personalization’s that match your thoughts. You can customize anything, which includes several options like changing the wallpaper, modifying the icon pack to suit your taste. Launchers to change the look and feel of your device and many more things to do.
In other words, Android is “yours”. Go ahead and do whatever you can. That excludes doing anything which you are not acquainted with because it may screw up your device to the extent, that you may not be able to use it.
Variety of devices to choose from
Smartphones having different hardware configurations from several manufacturers, ranging from low-end devices to high-end. If you want the latest smartphone (iPhone), you get to choose from only two iPhone versions ( iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus). But if you decide to switch to Android, you can choose your best-suited device from hundreds of devices out there. You get various flagship devices along with an army of flagship killers.
Let’s say, if you only love taking photographs, there is a device waiting for you or If you are a hardcore gamer, you can too find one for yourself. There’s something for everyone. That’s the reason, the majority of the users belong to the Android community.
You will obviously find a device which suits your need. So, you finally search for “your” phone. You can be unique in the race if you choose wisely. But, iPhones won’t make you feel unique. There are only two devices to opt for and everyone in your community is having an iPhone that includes you. In my opinion, that’s so boring.
When you go to buy an iPhone, you are left with two different display sizes, that is of 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch. What if you want a smaller smartphone? No! That’s not going to happen if you don’t switch over to Android devices. And, also according to your budget you can choose the device which offers a good pixel density to enhance your experience.

iPhones are getting equipped with features, which Android already had before
There are several technologies which exist from few years. But when it comes to an iPhone, it gets equipped with the useful technologies very slowly. So, one may say that all the iPhone features are not new.
Of course, there are various useful technologies other than the fingerprint Touch ID. Well, I have an example for you to show a clear picture out of it. NFC ? ? Have you heard it before? Oh! Yeah, it’s not anything new to the smartphone world. But, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus seem to have debuted the NFC chips this time. In the world of smartphones, the story of the tortoise and rabbit doesn’t apply. Here, the one who is “smarter” gets the point. Android users are experiencing the NFC technology before Apple even thought to implement it.
it’s the bitter truth, but what iOS 8 offers were already available on Android for years. iOS 8 promises of giving some more room to store their photos on the iCloud Photo library. On the contrary, Android’s Google+ photos let their users to sync and backup unlimited number of photos.
The next feature – iOS Cloud Drive, is not at all needed when Google drive is supported on iPhones and especially Android devices. Google drive gives a user up to 15 GB of cloud storage for free. And, Apple gives a mere 5 GB limit.
Let’s also talk about the Keyboards – iPhone users now have ability to use 3rd Party keyboard apps. But, Android users are already well versed with the best keyboard apps out there which offer a great many features as iOS keyboard has. This time iOS keyboard has been developed to suggest words or predict words to make typing a quick process. Ah! That’s again an old thing for Android users who have got SwiftKey or stock Google keyboard installed.
Siri makes you efficient but with limitations. The major update lets you launch Siri by just saying –“ Hey! Siri” only when the phone is plugged into a car. On the other side, Android users are even able to wake up their device by saying “OK! Google”.
Interactive notifications? Those aren’t new too. Android comes with the same feature too. If you use the stock Android then you may interact with the notifications to an extent. But, the developers of CyanogenMod managed to give the same feature before the iPhones had it.
And, some more features which were already present in Android devices. So, in a nutshell, you can easily stay ahead with Android.
Apps & Google services
Google Play Store is filled with millions of apps to choose from. It contains many creative apps from small developers too, who end up being popular with time. You get the privilege to try out many popular apps for FREE. Well, there are paid apps on the Google Play store too. But, the price is lower compared to the Apple app store.
Is it only the FREE factor? No! Absolutely not! Android users get attractive new features with major app updates. But in iPhone you merely see a major app update along with new features.
Also, if you switch over to Android, you get the best “Google Services”. Ranging from its syncing capabilities, to various services of entertainment and news. All the popular services like YouTube, Google Docs, Google Drive, Google+, Hangouts etc will be on your fingertips.
