Himalayas restricted to missions, No rain in Far Cry 4

Last updated on March 25th, 2017

It was a weekend and I was bored, so I took to twitter. And look what the curious cat dragged in.

I tweeted Alex Hutchinson, the Creative Director of Far Cry 4, asking him whether the Himalayas will be open to free roam i.e accessible at any time and Mr. Hutchinson replied by saying that the Himalayas will be restricted to certain missions. Its a downer but understandable; the transition from the lowlands to the Himalayas is drastic in real life and would be very hard to replicate in the game. Another thing to be noted is that Mr. Hutchinson could have easily ignored the question but chose to answer it; he chose to stay transparent with the fans, something that Ubisoft has not been good at doing, so Kudos to you sir. Can’t wait for the game!!!

Alex was very busy answering questions from other fans too; when a fan asked if Far Cry 4 will have rain, he replied by saying that there will be no rain in Far Cry 4 but there will be a day/night cycle, fog, snow storms etc.

And to another fan’s query about the voice actors, Alex said that all the characters speaking Hindi (a primary Indian language) were in fact played by Indians. YAY!!!

When quizzed on why Hindi was used over Nepali/Napalese, here is what Alex had to say
