Assassin’s Creed Unity’s Project Widow takes you to 18th century Paris

Ubisoft sure knows how to market its products. After collaborating with Rob Zombie and Tony Moore on a video depicting the dark period of the French Revolution, Ubisoft has now gone ahead and opened up a website titled “Project Widow” for their upcoming game Assassin’s Creed Unity. Thanks to Gamespot for sharing the news.

Project Widow is an interactive website which portrays France as it was during the 18th century, during the French revolution. Visitors can find memories, watch videos and find hidden art and all the progress is cumulatively added to an overall completion percentage. Andy Serkis, of The Lord Of The Rings fame, narrates in the background while the visitor explores 18th century France.

This was not a surprise as Ubisoft are pretty well known for their innovative marketing. Just last year, they had released a website titled ‘wearedata’ for the then upcoming game Watch Dogs. The website enabled visitors to track electronics cameras, social network data, train schedules etc of major cities like London and Paris. And by the looks of Project Widow, Assassin’s Creed Unity looks to be gearing to be the best game of the year. You can find Project Widow here.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity releases on November 13th 2014 for the PS4, Xbox One and the PC.
